George wilhelm nicholas cousins5/30/2023 Instead of diminishing in number, royal thrones had multiplied, and the second half of the 19th and the early years of the 20th centuries had seen the setting up of half a dozen new monarchies, so by the year of Edward VII's death there were more monarchs in Europe than there had ever been. Never since the days of the ancien régime of pre-revolutionary France had monarchy seemed so firmly entrenched. Who, seeing this collection of royalty clattering by, could doubt that the institution of kingship was flourishing? Nothing could better have symbolised the extraordinary early 20th-century flowering of European monarchy than this spectacular parade. Republican envoys, no matter how powerful the countries they represented - even France or the United States - were firmly relegated to the end of the procession. Here was a moment of supreme monarchical glory.

The setting is Prarownt, a planet that's one of earth's trading partners. My inner linguist went gaga over this book! In fact, stories where they aren't squick her badly, so don't expect to find abuse stories in her journal. In her worlds, tops and bottoms are all mature, consenting adults. Some of her stories focus on power exchange, bondage or bdsm. She prefers to focus on plot: mysteries and monsters and disasters, oh my, but sex can and does happen. She first cut her teeth on fanfic: gen, slash, het, and femslash. When she isn’t writing, Lyn Gala teaches in New Mexico. Her characters seek to better themselves and find the happy ending (or happier anyway), but it’s writing the struggle that inspires her muse. Even the purest heroes have pain and loss and darkness in their hearts, and that’s where she likes to find her stories. Westerns starring men with shady pasts gave way to science fiction with questionable protagonists which eventually gave in to any story with a morally ambiguous character. Lynsey "Lyn" Gala started writing in the back of her science notebook in third grade and hasn’t stopped since.

Troublemaker surviving hollywood5/29/2023 When Remini decide to leave Scientology, even before this book came out, I read lots of interviews and saw lots of discussion about her and the religion. And while I didn’t watch King of Queens often, I always felt she and Kevin James showed great chemistry together. She was one of my favorite girlfriends to Zack Morris while growing up (a role that she apparently was advised against taking, so I’m glad she went against that and did her own thing). I have always liked her attitude and always enjoy it when she pops up on something I am watching. I enjoy listening to memoirs because I feel like you get a lot more to the story when the person telling the story is actually able to, you know, tell it. I have been wanting to read this since it came out, but decided to try listening to it. I listened to this book over a few days during my commute. And because she’s recognizable, it’s a good move to get more interest in the book itself. The cover is fine, Remini looks lovely, as always. Book: Trouble Maker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology by Leah Remini Īs with most memoirs, especially celebrity ones, this cover features a picture of Leah Remini’s face.
